The St. Louis County Police Department is investigating after discovering a foot within a shoe on the banks of the Mississippi River in St. Louis, Missouri, September 4, according to KTVI.
The officers were tipped off by hikers, who had found a shoe near the water’s edge at Bee Tree County Park.
Upon arrival, officers realized the 13-sized men’s shoe contained a human foot.
K9 searches, cadaver dog searches, water searches and helicopter searches were then conducted, but nothing else was found.
The St. Louis County Medical Examiner’s Office and the St. Louis County Police Department’s Bureau of Crime Against Persons are investigating, according to KMOV.
