Douglas County Sheriff’s Office will host the 2015 North American Police Work Dog Association National Workshop June 7-12.
In attendance will be Master Trainers, Trainers and K-9 handlers from over 20 different states and two K-9 handlers from the country of Brazil.
K-9 Teams will train and certify in Narcotics Detection, Explosives Detection, Accelerant Detection, Apprehension Work, Tracking/Trailing and Cadaver Work at several venues throughout Douglas County.
There also will be a free public K-9 demonstration at Douglas County High School on Wednesday, June 10, from 5pm-7pm.
This is a great opportunity for the community to see what the handlers and the K-9’s do on a day-to-day basis. It also gives the community the ability to meet and ask the handlers about their jobs and their K-9 partners.
